MAKATI — South Korean Ambassador Hye-min Lee was the principal guest and speaker at the induction of the new set of officers of the Philippine Korean Economic Council (PhilKOREC) held recently at the E-Hotel along Arnaiz Avenue here.
The induction also coincided with the members’ Annual General Meeting.
Organized in 1978 under the auspices of the Philippine Chambers of Commerce, Inc., PhilKOREC promotes mutually beneficial business opportunities and enterprise as well as fellowship between the Philippines and Korea.
Dr. Elton See Tan, President of the Rotary Club of Makati Bonifacio, has been inducted as Chairman and President, with Robert L. Yupangco of Yupangco Holdings Corporation as his vice chairman. Dr. Tan took over from outgoing chairman and president Conrad Marty, vice chair of the Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc.
The event got the full support from International Rotary District 3830, headed by Governor Sue Sta. Maria and some of her Presidents that included Johnny M. Pecayo of RC Makati Nielsen, Joyce Hufton, RC Makati Urdaneta, Venus Baguyo, RC Metropolitan Pateros, Dr. Rico Castro, RC Alabang, Lani Francisco, RC Makati San Miguel, PP Patti King of RC Makati Jose P. Rizal, among other Rotarians.
DG Sta. Maria delivered an inspirationl message and congratulated Dr. Tan for his leadership, spearheading two different clubs at the same time.
